Stewart Gandolf, MBA — CEO & Co-Founder, Healthcare Success

Stewart Gandolf black and white

Stewart Gandolf co-founded Healthcare Success in 2006, but the agency was built on more than a decade of work that came before it.

Through the 1990s and into the early 2000s, Stewart was already inside healthcare marketing when the field barely existed as a discipline. Most healthcare organizations weren't marketing at all. Patients were treated as passive recipients of care. The notion that healthcare would become one of the most competitive, consumer-driven industries in the economy was, at the time, a fringe view.

Stewart held it anyway. He spent those years learning how healthcare markets actually behave—how patients and referring physicians make decisions, how trust and perception shape those decisions long before anyone books an appointment, and why organizations that understood human behavior would consistently outperform those that led with credentials and tactics alone. By the time he co-founded Healthcare Success, he wasn't starting from scratch. He was applying more than a decade of hard-won insight that most agencies never accumulate at all.

Healthcare Success: 20 years. 1,500+ clients. One industry.

When Stewart launched Healthcare Success in 2006, he made a deliberate bet: that the most durable competitive advantage in healthcare marketing wasn't buying attention—it was earning trust. He built the agency around speaking at industry conferences, publishing thought leadership, and creating educational content that helped healthcare organizations grow long before "content marketing" became a recognized discipline.

That approach didn't just build the agency. It became the agency's defining strength—one that has compounded over 20 years into a body of work, depth of institutional knowledge, and an organic search and AI visibility position that competitors who entered the last five or 10 years simply can't replicate.

Today, Healthcare Success is one of the nation's leading healthcare growth and transformation agencies. Over two decades, Stewart has personally consulted on more than 1,500 client engagements across specialty medical groups, behavioral health and addiction treatment organizations, hospitals and health systems, multi-location practices, private equity-backed healthcare platforms, telehealth and digital health companies, healthcare SaaS and device companies, and other complex healthcare enterprises nationwide.

The agency has been recognized in MM&M's Agency 100 multiple times, named to the Orange County Business Journal's Top 20 Ad Agencies for years, and listed among the fastest-growing companies in Orange County three years running. Its invitation to speak at the McGuireWoods Private Equity in Healthcare Conference confirmed what the market had already demonstrated: Healthcare Success had become the agency of choice for sophisticated, enterprise-level healthcare organizations.

Healthcare Success works with organizations navigating:

  • Competitive market repositioning and brand strategy
  • Patient acquisition and consumer engagement at scale
  • Physician and referral network development
  • Digital marketing, healthcare SEO, and AI-era search visibility
  • Website strategy, UX, and conversion optimization
  • Growth strategy for PE-backed and enterprise healthcare organizations

The thinking behind 30 years of work

Numbers tell part of the story. What 1,500 client engagements across 30 years in virtually every healthcare category actually produces is something that can't be bought or shortcut: pattern recognition at depth.

Stewart understands how healthcare markets behave under real pressure. How referral networks fracture and get rebuilt. How brand positioning either opens doors or quietly closes them—often without leadership ever understanding why. How organizations that lead with patient trust and consumer understanding consistently outperform those that lead with features and tactics. How digital transformation creates genuine growth opportunities, and just as many expensive ways to waste budget—and how to tell the difference.

He was working from a patient-centered, consumer-first premise long before "healthcare consumerism" entered the mainstream conversation. That foresight—and three decades of client work built around it—is what organizations come to Healthcare Success for. CEOs, CMOs, PE sponsors, and marketing leaders come not for another vendor, but for someone who can look at a complex, competitive healthcare environment and see clearly both what's being missed and what's actually possible.

As healthcare has entered the AI era, Stewart has remained at the leading edge—serving as Conference Chairman for the AI Marketing for Medical Devices Summit and speaking at multiple conferences and podcast interviews—shaping how the industry thinks about AI-driven growth, not just reporting on it.

Before co-founding Healthcare Success, Stewart built his marketing foundation at major agencies including J.
