Copywriter — Digital Healthcare Marketing & Advertising

Healthcare Success is looking for a multitalented, Orange County, CA-based copywriter to join our team and contribute excellent healthcare marketing copy both for clients and the company’s own marketing and content output.

Medical/healthcare copywriting and digital marketing experience are must-haves, as is the ability to produce quality copy fast. Qualified candidates will have extensive experience writing for online marketing strategies (websites, landing pages, blog posts, etc), specifically in SEO conversion. Ideal candidates will also have additional skillsets—such as in design/layout, video editing), be committed to a strong work ethic and have a sense of urgency to see projects through to completion.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interview clients, conduct research and form a deep understanding of topics and target audience
  • Write compelling, conversational and technically excellent copy fast, often under tight deadline
  • Plan, develop, crafting, presenting and revising copy for: websites, landing pages, blog posts, email marketing, digital and social media ads, video/radio scripts, print advertising, collateral marketing, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to create compelling concepts and messaging appropriate to strategy for the company and its healthcare clients, which include hospitals, practices, pharma companies, medical device makers, and more
  • Write conversationally, in both branding/storytelling and direct-response styles
  • Follow branding guidelines, internal style guides, and marketing best practices
  • Proofread own work and for others as directed
  • Collaborate with creative director, art directors, designers, developers, account managers, and other team members to deliver a product our clients will truly be proud of
  • Present content strategy and copy decisions with confidence to clients and/or key stakeholders at our agency
  • Make multiple rounds of edits as needed/contracted to fit client and company preference
  • Manage personal deadlines and keep account/project managers up-to-date on progress and timelines


  • Bachelor’s degree (or better) in marketing, communications, journalism, English or related field
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills along with
  • The ability to know the audience’s needs, wants and problems, and how to address them successfully while incorporating SEO- and marketing-friendly content
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience writing healthcare-marketing copy for a marketing agency, PR agency or healthcare provider
  • Working knowledge of SEO copywriting
  • Understanding of online advertising, including PPC and display
  • Ability to multitask, self-start and work independently to tight deadlines
  • Expertise with common style guides and grammar/usage standards
